Ari Gomez (they/them) is a 22 year old multimedia artist from Mexico City, currently studying at SAIC in Chicago. They specialize in hand-built ceramics and pottery, but make work across multiple mediums like riso printing, bookmaking, screen printing, fiber works such as tapestry weaving and needle felting. Ari works with themes related to gender, community, childhood and identity. Their art is usually very bright, colorful and whimsical as it takes place in a surreal universe where non-normative and non-human bodies are celebrated and everyone does what they want without fear or judgment.
